Powerscourt Gardens

The gardens at Powerscourt are probably the finest in Ireland, both for their design and their dramatic setting at the foot of Great Sugar Loaf Mountain.
The gardens contain glorious lakes with spouting fountains and winged horses, and magnificent specimen trees that grow to a prodigious height in the mild climate.

Glendalough Monastic Center

Glendalough is one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland, founded by St. Kevin. The utter peace and beauty of the location are captivating, perhaps more than the ruins themselves. The age of the buildings is uncertain, but most date from the 8th to 12th centuries.
