GOLF IN THE DUBLIN AREA

Carton House

Carton House

The Carton House Golf resort is made up of two courses - The O'Meara course and the Montgomerie course. The O’Meara parkland course tests its players by utilising the rolling land of the estate and the majestic waters of the River Rye. The award winning Montgomerie course presents the golfer with a very different challenge of head high pot bunkers, fast running greens and narrow fairways weaving through fields of native fescue grasses.

Druids Glen

Druids Glen

Druids Glen was voted European Golf Club of the Year in 2001. The pars 3s are the most memorable, with several playing from elevated tees. Streams and lakes provide frequent hazards and nowhere is this more frightening than on the 17th where you play to an island green. Water is again ominously present on the closing hole, where three lakes surround the green.

Old Portmarnock

Universally acknowledged as one of the truly great links courses, Portmarnock has been venue for some of the game's great events, from the British Amateur Championship of 1949, to the Canada Cup in 1960, quite apart the 1991 Walker Cup and 12 staging of the revived Irish Open.

PGA National

Designed by Christy O'Connor Jr, the 7,419 yard, par 72, championship course has his stamp in evidence at every turn, especially in the lavish sweep of the fairways and the extensive use of water. And one is always aware of generous space being employed to full advantage. With its impressive bunkering and significant water hazards it is set to become one of the great golf courses in Ireland, having already received a vote of confidence with plenty of positive publicity from the golf writing fraternity.

PGA National

The European Club

The European Club

The European Club features exciting links golf through tumbling dunes with dramatic views of the Irish Sea from no fewer than sixteen of the holes. The Irish Golfers Institute ranking of Irelands 30-Greatest Golf courses of the 20th Century ranked the links 5th. The Golfers Companion worldwide poll to nominate the Worlds 100 Greatest Golf Courses of the 20th Century ranked the European Club at 24th.

The Island

The Island

This beautiful links course set in splendid isolation is surrounded by the Irish Sea, Donabate beach and Broadmeadow estuary, nestling between some of the highest sand dunes of any links course in Ireland. This is a wonderful links golf course of the very highest calibre which starts and finishes with two big, bold par fours, cut through the very heart of the huge, rolling sand dunes.

The K Club

The K Club

The Palmer Course is one of Europe's most spectacular courses. You may have been forewarned that Ireland's first Ryder Cup Venue is no ordinary golf course, and that it is widely acknowledged as the country's most challenging inland layout, but still you will be unprepared for the ensuing drama. A stunning parkland course with the River Liffey frequently coming into play throughout, particularly on the 16th.

If you would like a quote to play one of these courses, please email Patricia stating

  - the course you would like to play
- when you would like to play it
